The Foot Pressure Mapping is a tool used by occupational and physical therapists to determine seat-interface pressures and by other healthcare professionals to perform foot assessments. It is a computerized clinical tool for assessing pressure distribution. It was used for footwear or orthotic designers, researchers in gait analysis, diabetic foot complications, or other disciplines interested in the pressure distribution on the foot. Foot Pressure mapping is simply the measurement and visual reporting of pressure between two contacting surfaces.
